TwentyInchBurial
Bloody MetalCore from Portugal.
Raw sound, melody, inner struggle.
Lost inside a room
A room called my life
I carry this burden
A burden that has your name,
Your name my life just the same
Mistaking dawn for dusk
Keeping the past alive
Your smell is on my pillow
Your taste in my lips
When the first tear
Drops to the dead ground
It means I have died
I will not apologize for who I am
I will not apologize for who I am.
Feel the Feeling, Dig them Out.

Kid With Man Head
Oldskool power pop punk from Belmar, New Jersey. In the style of Big Drill Car and Gameface, 80′s hair metal and your mom.
For many people around KWMH were giants, completing 6-7 tours, playing great music all through and putting up explosive shows wearing costumes like leather fetish judas priest style, gay santa clauses and x-mass deer, playing while being hanged upside down from their feet, light suits with an electric shock included…
… red hearted baby pants, wearing swimsuits and dick or condom-like balloons on their heads, a dead fish show, the frontman coming on stage riding a motorcycle, and much more… you can get a picture at their site:
http://www.myspace.com/kidwithmanhead
Their frontman Pimco is a genious, he was writing things like this yellow letter passage :
or the hypnotizing spiral of the potatoe head massacre album:
” i always wondered what it would be like to have a potato for a head. i guess
it would be pretty cool for a while. you’d probably get really nervous though
when your friends are eating french fries. you could never work at a burger
place or you’d have all of these hungry frie craving people staring at your
head salavating until you flip out and go on an uncontrolable killing rampage
while humming a tune of glee. a while back i grew like this corn dog
mustache. it was a happening look i had going. i mean, i got a lot of
attention most places i went. most people hadn’t seen anyone with a
corndog growing on their upper lip in a while. chicks really seemed to dig it.
the only thing was, i like corn dogs and all, but that smell gets to you after a
while. especially when it’s like, right under your nose all of the time.
sometimes i would be eating chocolate chip mint ice cream and it would
taste like chocolate chip corn dog mint ice cream and it made me sick and
puke sometimes. so i shaved it off. i kind of miss it now. i’m thinking of
trying a new mustache. maybe a tootsie roll or egg noodle. i can’t decide
which. i decided to go to one of those drive through safari parks once and
these two baby baboons crawled on to the roof of the car. it was really cool
at first, but then they started ripping the vynil top off and like choking me
and scratching up my face and neck. i’m like trying to push them away, but
they’re in this attack mode and i’m trying to push them away and i
accidentally touched that big wet pink butt thing. i have this little bird friend
and i gave him a quarter for a phone call like two weeks ago back. so
yeseterday i had three crackers and i could tell he wanted some, but i
wouldn’t share them with him because he’s a little dead beat bird and no
friend of mine. so he just got really mad and flew off and told all of his little
bird friends that i was a dick and not to hang out with me and to give me
mean looks. i cant tell they are all saying bad things about me in bird
language. i can tell by the way they chirp. can’t fool me. i know pig latin
also. sometimes my hair catches on fire and i start flipping because my head
is burning. so i try to put it out with a big bowl of vanilla pudding and then i
feel stupid because my hair smells real bad and i have pudding all on my
head. like at the bbq one time. i really didn’t like anyone that showed up. so
i spread like liquid drain unclogger on the burgers and dogs. when i went
inside later, someone nailed me trying to hide some fish in the couch
cushions. you love kid with man head. ”

Within Reach
After a self-financed EP and three releases on the Burning Heart/Sidekicks label, Within Reach decided it was time to move on and in September -99 they entered Studio Soundlab together with Mathias (from Millencolin) and Mieszko (from Nasum) to record their first album for us. The result was “Fall From Grace”, a record that takes their music into previously unexplored territories.
While their previous releases focus mainly on old school hardcore this new effort is a lot heavier, almost like a mix of their previous sound and Entombed style metal. The response from fans, radio stations and magazines that have heard their two songs on the “This is Bad Taste vol.3″ sampler has been incredible to say the least!

Within Reach was formed in Arboga in the beginning of 1996 with a line-up consisting of Magnus T, Björn H, Magnus B and Jocke E. Robin was added to the line-up in June ’98. Most of them had previously played together in the local bands Passage 4 and Lifeless Image (both with records out on Wounded Records), but when forming Within Reach the main influences were from bands such as Black Flag, Poison Idea, Sick of it All and Chain of Strength.
After the self-released “The Light Will Return” EP they released three records on Burning Heart/Sidekicks – the “Something’s Not Right” MCD, the “Strength Through Diversity” CD and the “Reconsider/Reconstruct” MCD. The Polish label Shing Industries also released a cassette version of all the BHR/Sidekicks releases as well as a Within Reach split 7″ with the legendary Polish hardcore band 1125. It has already been confirmed that the new album “Fall From Grace” will be released on license in Spain through Locomotive Music.
Over the last couple of years, they have also been featured on several major compilations such as Stronger Than Ever, Cheap Shots vol.3, Still Screaming (all on Burning Heart), Cheap Shots America (Epitaph), Area 51 (I Scream/Victory) etc.
After some trouble in the band they finally called it quits in 2001.

Dub Trio
Dub Trio, coming from Brooklyn New York, show us how hard is to categorize their music in any actual-basic genre. The only thing you can say for this dub/cross-over rock giants is they’re the best at what they’re doing and they do it so right, showing a special way to make things work.

They have been completely accepted by a so mixed fan base, consisting from different backgrounds since the release of their debut album entitled “Exploring the Dangers” back in 2004.

The reason is they have perfectly combined Rock, Experimental , Punk, Metal, Dub , Electronic creating a unique identity for their sound; some may say Dub Trio created a new genre for many generations of bands to follow.

Despite the fact that this Trio has been featured in many collaborations with great artists they’ve kept a low profile in the scene above others.
If you get the chance to catch them at one of their shows you’ll figure out what the phrase ‘exploding live performance’ means exactly.

Spacement Records and The Wrong Side of Reno
When we say Reno, we all know huge bands like 7 Seconds, Iron Lung, Zoinks, Crushstory, The Atomiks, This Computer Kills coming from this city.
The unfortunately now defunct label Spacement Records were a part of this underground scene at the recent era of 2000 -2008. A great diy collective label and distro that played an important role at the punk hardcore scene of the small Reno-Nevada US.
Making exciting work for their bands, putting great diy shows almost everywhere from youth centers to small rooms and basements, they contributed to the local scene’s history.
There are some great bands from this latest era to check out although they rest in peace for now, plus an awesome book to learn more about The Bad Side of Reno:
Arabella
Huge Female Fronted Hardcore/punk band from Reno. Great vocals, Experimental ideas dressing all around killer songs. It was said that
“when (Jeanne Jo’s) screaming starts, the sound is like some kind of demon
from hell” (Impact Press).
This Reno-based band existed from 2003 – 2005. They completed two west coast tours and released a self-titled 7 inch record
and a split 7 inch with label mates Bafabegiya through Spacement Records.
Download Arabella stuff through Jeanne Jo’s site:

Jeanne together with Mac Schopen have put out a great book called
The Wrong Side of Reno Three Decades of Punk and Hardcore Music in the Biggest Little City.
Great work though, so artistic and proffesional. An anthology of vinyl records that have been pressed throughout Northern Nevada’s long and intimate history with underground music. There are some important contributions to this peace of art from Henry Rollins, Ian Mackaye, Levi Watson, Mike Ward, Bessie Oakley, Jensen Ward, Spencer Benavides, Leah Ruby, Joe Ferguson, Ryan Stark, Jim Williams, Chris Costalupes, Scaught Bates, Lauren Garaventa, and Bob Conrad. .
Must check it here:

Unfortunately there isn’t any recent available information on the internet about them and Spacement Records. No official websites or shit. RIP.
